Church of Saint Mark

From the Middle Ages it preserved the monumental south portal with statues of the twelve apostles. The portal is created under the influence of the famous sculpture workshop Parler from Prague and is the most important achievement of Gothic sculpture in continental Croatia. The roof of the church with the historical Croatian coat of arms and the city of Zagreb dates from the 19th century, the major renovation under the guidance of architect Hermann Bollé and Friedrich von Schmidt. The bell tower is from the Baroque time, and the year of 1841. on it signifies one of the major reconstructions.
