Sword Dance Moreška

This is why Moreška has become the most distinctive symbol of Korčula throughout the world. Enriched with a medieval ambience of the streets of Korčula, this dance takes one back to the glorious times of the stories of chivalry. However, Moreška is not the only traditional war dance game preserved on the island. There are other attractive dances, such as Kumpanija and Moštra, performed in other towns on Korčula - Vela Luka, Smokvice or Blato. The dances remind us that honour and courage were once virtues appreciated above all others.
